Eleanor Jawurlngali Dixon is from the remote Northern Territory community of Marlinja, located almost exactly halfway between Alice Springs and Darwin. She is a founding member of the acclaimed Kardajala Kirridarra and the father-daughter duo Rayella.

In 2024/2025 under the moniker, Eleanor Jawurlngali, she appeared at Mona Foma, the St Kilda Festival, WOMAD, PANAMA and the NIMAs and supported Kim Gordon, Dan Sultan and Dirty Three on national their tours. Her music blends traditional language and contemporary expression, often drawing on ancestral stories and deep listening practices. Alongside her collaborators – including Mick Turner and multi-award-winning cellist Stephanie Arnold – Jawurlngali channels a sound that is expansive yet intimate, grounded in Country and imagination.

In August 2025 she launched a groundbreaking new project in collaboration with Dirty Three, performing debut track ‘Alice Rising’ live at the NIMAS 2025. An album is slated for release in 2026.
